Phelps Phever!

Olympics 2008 has been nothing but fantastic for the Pickrell family! Ethan has our family crazy about Michael Phelps and we are staying up far to late watching him swim. Every morning Ethan wakes up and turns on the computer (our home page right now is NBC.com) and he watches what he missed out on in the middle of the night. One morning (7:45 a.m.) I was woke up with crazy screaming and yelling, because it was the 4x100m relay and Ethan couldn't stand it. It was too intense, as I am sure you all know! He also walks up to my grandpa's everyday to get all the pictures out of his paper. Thanks gramp for not caring if you get to read the entire paper! I love that his and now my twins super hero is real, and that his super hero/idol loves his mama!

Baby Matthew is Finally Here!

So my sister Mandi just had her baby; Matthew O'Brien Huber, and he was 9lbs, 22inches and a full head of dark hair. She was also a week early. I can't imagine what he would have weighed waiting another week. She felt bad that Ryan and Brand-o would have to miss out on 3 weeks of summer so she packed her summer full of fun with her boys. My boys went on quite a few outings with her too, and this one was to "This Is The Place State Park" -Thanks Mandi for filling my boys summer with fun too! My brother Cole was at the hospital too, sporting his new "foo-man-choo", you lookin' hot Coley!

Ethan's Dive Class

Ethan is taking a dive class up at the Utah sports complex. He loves it! As most everyone knows, he has a passion for swim and it is killing him that summer swimming is coming to an end! This is his dive teacher Ian, he is very "cool" and Ethan really likes him because he has a "foe-hawk" before he gets in the pool! (Hair styles can make or break a good teacher) Notice one picture Ian has shorts on, and one his suit, that is because some dink of a kid decided not to listen and he had to jump in after him after hitting his back on the board.

But Ian does have nice legs, eh?

Scott's Laid Up

So Scott finally "manned" up and got his toes done. The funny part is, it's called "nail surgery"! It kinda sounds a little bit like its a wuss surgery, but I assure you, it is going to be worth it. He kinda looks like he has Shreck toes, big sausages! He was a good sport, and thanks to Dr. Flegal, he will be good to go in no time.

How To Tie Your Shoes

So I bought the boys new Puma's for school. (It is all the rage at our house to have Puma's). I have always either bought slip on or Velcro for my boys, because it is just easier. This year I bought Ethan "tie shoes" and gave him the challenge to wear his new shoes he had to learn to tie them. So it took a few times and tah-dah, by darn he got it. The first time he did it yelled "YES!" and threw his hands in the air like he just roped a cow in the rodeo. It was so funny. He continued to show Aiden and Keaton how he could do it all day. One time I overheard Ethan say "Shhh. . . Aiden I need to concentrate." Aiden then said, "Ethe, what does concentrate mean?" Ethan answered: "You know, I need to focus." Aiden asked, "Ethe, what does focus mean?" Ethan answered, "I just need to think about this." Then Aiden got this huge smile on his face and put his finger in the air and said, "I know how to think about it, right mom!"

Boys Craft Day

It was my turn to do "Boys Craft Day" in our hood. I did a little tool theme, and it was really fun. My grandpa made them all work benches, and I gave my mom the chore of making them all tool belts. We painted the benches, ran through the sprinkler's while they dried, them came back and pounded the heck out of them with our mini hammers. Lucky us only one boy smacked their finger. Thanks to "G" and Grandma Thumbalina, you always come through for the Pickrell's!

Gateway Fountain w/ The Old Folks!

So I thought I would be ambitious and take my boys, my sister Mandi's boys and my grandparents on a little adventure. We took Trax to Gateway to do the fountains, and discovered it was American Idol tryouts, oops - can we say busy! But it turned out good we ran through the fountains, got a little Ben and Jerry's, and came home, really what could be better? I love that my grandparents will do excursions with us. They are good sports and they were so fun to have with us.

Tip: My sister gave me the tip to take our Camel Back's with us on anything we do this summer and it has been so good. I only am in charge of my water. You should try!
